PGOS Software is a specialist embedded engineering practice working across every sector that ships embedded systems, from firmware on MCUs, MPUs and FPGAs to verification and test automation, embedded cybersecurity, and edge machine learning.
Engaged across the product lifecycle: architecture, implementation, verification, and the evidence needed to ship with confidence.
Drivers, board bring-up and application firmware from the register up: bare-metal and RTOS across MCU and MPU-class parts, through to embedded Linux platforms with Yocto, device trees and BSP work.
End-to-end test automation for embedded systems: unit, integration and system tests on host and on real hardware, hardware-in-the-loop rigs, structural coverage to statement, branch and MC/DC, and static analysis to MISRA and CERT, all driven through CI/CD. Our specialism is automating LDRA (TBrun / TBvision) pipelines, and we work fluently across VectorCAST, Cantata, Tessy, Polyspace, Helix QAC and Parasoft, plus unit frameworks such as GoogleTest, Unity and CppUTest. We're also building AI agents into the pipeline to help generate, run and triage tests.
Secure boot and hardware root of trust, key management and provisioning, secure firmware and OTA update, TrustZone / TEE isolation, anti-tamper and side-channel awareness, plus threat modelling and SBOM-based supply-chain security, with cryptographic implementation engineered toward FIPS.
Quantised, on-device inference within tight power and memory budgets, bringing classification, anomaly detection and signal processing to the microcontroller.
RTL design and verification in VHDL and SystemVerilog across AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera and Lattice devices, including Zynq SoC-FPGA integration, timing closure and on-target validation.
Evidence-led development aligned to the standards your market demands: cybersecurity to NCSC guidance, NIST (CSF, SP 800-series, FIPS) and IEC 62443, alongside functional safety (DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, IEC 62304) and assurance schemes such as ISO 21434 and Common Criteria.
Networking and fieldbus integration across the stack: industrial and PLC automation protocols including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus, motion and instrumentation buses, and a full TCP/IP networking stack over Ethernet, USB and PCIe.
Build, test and release automation across embedded and cloud: reproducible CI/CD pipelines that compile, run tests on host and target, and deploy, backed by infrastructure as code, containerisation and the major cloud platforms. The same discipline that turns verification into a button-press carries right through to release.
Wherever a product runs embedded software, regulated or commercial, the same engineering discipline applies. These are the sectors the practice serves.
Safety- and security-critical systems where certification evidence, cryptographic assurance and verifiable behaviour are first-class requirements.
Functional-safety and cyber-secure control units and ECUs, developed in line with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
Dependable device firmware built with IEC 62304 rigour and the clear audit trail regulators and notified bodies expect.
Robust control, instrumentation and connected devices for demanding environments, hardened in line with IEC 62443.
Reliable, long-lifecycle embedded systems for grid, metering, renewables and field equipment.
High-volume connected products engineered for security, scale and long-term OTA maintainability.
Alongside our engineering services, PGOS Software is building an AI-driven cybersecurity platform that brings enterprise-grade protection to small and mid-sized businesses: real-time, automated and affordable for teams without a dedicated security function.
Real-time scanning and machine-learning pattern recognition that flags suspicious activity and zero-day threats with far fewer false positives.
AI agents contain threats the moment they're detected, around the clock, with customisable, role-based response workflows.
Predictive analytics surface vulnerabilities before they're exploited, with continuous, prioritised risk scoring.
Generative AI simulates attacks, generates detection rules and stress-tests infrastructure, so defences adapt as threats evolve.
Automated checks against GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001 and SOC 2, with audit-ready evidence packages and real-time posture tracking.

Flexible models built around how product teams actually run programmes.
A scoped deliverable (a driver, a test pipeline, a security module) taken from requirements through to verified, documented hand-over.
A skilled embedded team you can draw on, from a single contractor slotting into your toolchain to a dedicated squad taking on an outsourced workstream end to end.
Architecture, security and verification review: independent assessment of design, coverage strategy and certification readiness.
PGOS Software is a founder-led embedded practice with a track record across regulated and commercial sectors: defence, industrial, automotive, medical and connected products. Senior engineering leads every engagement, so the work is shaped by someone who has shipped it before.
Behind the practice is a team of skilled embedded engineers we can scale to fit the job, from a single specialist extending your team to a dedicated squad taking on an outsourced workstream end to end. However it's resourced, it stays under senior oversight.
The work spans the parts of embedded engineering that are easy to underestimate and expensive to get wrong: structural coverage on real hardware, cryptographic modules built toward certification, and firmware that has to behave correctly every time, for years.
The result is engineering you can put in front of an auditor: concise, accurate, and backed by evidence.
Parthiparaj founded PGOS Software with more than 20 years of delivering mission-critical, real-time embedded systems as an engineer and a technical leader. His work spans across aerospace, defence, satcom, maritime, industrial automation and fintech, from low-level firmware, device drivers and secure boot to cryptography on ARM and FPGA platforms, delivered to exacting safety and security standards including DO-178C, IEC 62443 and FIPS. He has led multidisciplinary engineering teams through full product lifecycles and prepared certification evidence for regulated industries, and holds an MSc in Software Engineering and an Executive MBA.
We're growing the team, and we're always glad to hear from talented engineers who want to work on demanding, real-world systems across every sector, from firmware and FPGA to verification, security and edge ML.
Strong embedded and software engineering expertise, a rigorous approach to quality, and genuine curiosity about how things work. Whether your strength is firmware, programmable logic, test automation, security or edge ML, we'd like to hear from you.
Tell us about the target, the standards in play and where you are in the lifecycle. We'll come back with how we can help and what it would take.
